Interactive Modules are modules that manipulate dynamic content that is presented by your website. They are the defining feature of the Amiro-Evolve CMS, and are a powerful tool for administrating information, communication, and managing web traffic. By default, there are 12 interactive modules- News, Articles, FAQ, Feedback, Downloads, Forum, Guestbook, Jobs, Photoalbums, Subscribe, Poll, Search.
News provides an easy way to present company news, current events, and latest happenings. It also ties into the 'News Announce' spec block so that you can place dynamically created links in any webpage. Multiple News type pages can be created, and news articles can be specified to those pages. There are extensions available for RSS feeds, discussion, rating, and photo tie-ins. The News module will also auto-archive old articles and automatically generate links to and from articles within the same page.
Articles provides a method to present multiple articles in multiple categories, with an emphasis on easy management for a large amount of varied documents. It also ties into the 'Articles Announce' spec block that can be placed on any webpage to provide easy links to your newest articles. There are extensions available for RSS feeds, discussion, rating, and photo tie-ins. While News is meant for current articles, the Articles module is meant for articles that will be applicable for a long-running time.
FAQ provides a method to present common questions and their respective answers in an easily readable form. It also contains an easily used public form for asking questions that are then presented in the back end (with e-mail notification) so that the administrator can answer them and have them added to the already existing list of questions and answers. You can also separate the questions into various categories.
Feedback is used to create a page that allows your visitors to provide feedback or ask questions that are delivered directly to your e-mail inbox. Included are methods for gathering contact information, with an emphasis on customization of the information gathered.
Downloads is used for uploading files to your website that can then be presented on your website (such as flash videos) or making a specific download page that can be used by visitors to download the file. Files can be categorized, hidden from public, and given descriptions.
Forum is used to create a simple forum that is easy to use. This is useful for conversations/communications that multiple people are involved in, allowing all parties involved to see the responses of the other parties and replying to them. It can be used as a public communication method, or you can force users to register first.
Guest Book is a module designed for random visitors to leave comments.
Jobs is a module designed for presenting job offerings with requirements and easily providing links for applicants to send you resumes and apply. It is geared towards helping administrate everything in the hiring process up to the interview.
Photoalbums is a photo album management module. You can categorize your photos, present thumbnail grids for easy previewing, set up commenting and discussion, and make a linear method of viewing photos. It has an emphasis on quickly adding new photos and presenting them in a clean fashion without a large amount of effort on the side of the administrator.
Subscribe allows your visitors to subscribe to various topics via e-mail, administrated by you. For example, you can create a subscription for 'current events', and everybody that subscribes to that topic will receive an e-mail with anything that you post to that subscription topic. This is a great method for creating and maintaining client communications on important subjects that need to be sent out to many people.
Poll allows you to create polls that people can vote on. You can allow anybody to vote, or only specific subscribers. You can even allow your site's visitors to create their own options to vote from, much like an 'Other: ___' field. The vote results can be presented publicly or hidden until you feel like publishing the results. This is great for gathering marketing information from your customer base.
Search is a module specifically geared towards presenting an easy method to search through your site. This is a great thing for sites that may end up becoming very intricate, layered, or spread out.
