The Photoalbums module is used for creating an easily browsable archive of photo's and pictures. This article will cover the basic use of the Photoalbum module.

First, click on the 'Photoalbums' icon in the start page.

Assuming that you have not yet set up an album, you will first need to set up an album to put the photos in. Click on the 'Albums' link on the left hand menu.

This will bring you to the albums page. Type the album name and the information for the album below in the visual editor. Announce is the headline used for the photo announce strip, body is where you put the description, and options are where you can edit various options and keywords for searching.

When you have entered in the name of the album and a brief description, you're ready to add your album cover photo. Just click on the primary 'Picture' shortcut icon , highlited in the picture above . This will bring you to the picture upload screen. Either select a photo already uploaded or upload a new image. If you upload an image, it is suggested to create copies with smaller dimensions to use as a thumbnail, but make sure you deselect the 'Do not store original image' selection box, so that it stores both the image and the smaller thumbnail image. When you have everything the way you want, click 'Apply'. Below the 'Picture' shortcut icon are two more icons, used for pop-up images and small (thumbnail) images. The pop-up picture is used for when the browser clicks on the 'Enlarge Photo' link. It is suggested that the small picture be of thumbnail size (equal to or less than 120 on either dimension) and the pop-up picture be the largest version or the same photo as the photo. It should be noted that photo albums do not require a picture for themselves, though they will have to contain pictures to display in the web page.

After you've created an album, it's time to add pictures to it. Just click the 'Photos' link in the left hand menu, and this will bring you to the add photo screen. Select the Album to put it in, using the Album drop down. Enter in any information for the announce, body, author, source, etc, that you would like to enter. The only required information is a header, which should be a brief description of the photo that will serve as the hyperlink for the photo. The process is otherwise identical to setting photo album photo cover photos, but it is required to have a primary or pop up picture.
